What is the Tennessee Transfer Pathway?

The University of Tennessee and the Tennessee Board of Regents work together to assure the seamless transfer of courses among all Tennessee public community colleges and universities.

Any student who completes the courses listed for their major of a Transfer Pathway will have the opportunity to earn an A.A. or A.S. degree from the community college. The student is guaranteed that all community college courses taken will be accepted at the college/university and will count toward completion of the particular major.

Admission to UT Knoxville is competitive. As a result, the Pathways do not guarantee admission.

What is Complete College Tennessee Act (CCTA)?

The Complete College Tennessee Act was passed in January 2010 to transform public higher education through changes in academic, fiscal and administrative policies at the state and institutional level. The CCTA recognizes the need for more Tennesseans to be better educated and trained, while also acknowledging the state’s diminished fiscal capacity to support higher education.
